Math: Students will identify time to the hour and half hour.
*50 problem subtraction speed drill will be given this week.
Reading: We will be reading Rosa and Blanca. We will talk about theme and plot. The theme is the big idea of the story. The plot is what happens at the beginning, middle, and end of a story. We will also predict what might happen next as we read the story.
Spelling: We will learn to read and write words with long i (i, igh, y).
*** Please know that on this week's spelling test dictation sentences: if there is ONE error (spelling/capitalization/punctuation) in the sentence, the whole sentence will be marked incorrect and 5 points subtracted from test score.
Grammar: We will continue to talk about verbs.
Social Science: We will learn symbols and figures identified with Alabama. We will also learn how to read a map.
