Lesson Plans for Sept. 19-23

Math:  We will learn to add doubles (8+8)  and doubles plus one (8+9).  We will also review combinations of 10.

Reading:  The story for this week is The Strongest One.  We will talk about realism and fantasy.  We will discuss strategies for "monitor and fix up" (what to do if we get stuck on a word or sentence).

Spelling:  We will learn how to read and write words with consonant digraphs (sh, ch, tch, wh, th).

Grammar:  We will learn the difference between a command and an exclamation.

S. Science:  We will finish our lesson on the equal-arm balance.  We will investigate how and what different objects affect the balance.
