Reading:
Our story this week is "Iris and Walter."
The skill we will be learning is identifying character and setting in stories.

Selection Test - Thursday


Language:
We will be able to identify good, complete sentences.

Spelling:
We will read and spell words with short vowel sounds.

Social Science:
This week we will identify and give characteristics of different communities - urban, suburban, and rural.
Math:

This week we will work on solving addition word problems.  We will concentrate on the reading and understanding, making a plan to solve, and using different strategies to solve.

Each week we will have an addition speed drill.  There will be 50 problems and the time limit is 3 minutes.  Only the highest score from the nine weeks will be recorded.
