Math: Students will learn to identify fractions as part of a whole. We will discuss halves, thirds, and quarters.
Reading: This week the students will read The Life Cycle of a Pumpkin. We will learn to identify fact and opinion in text. Reading test will be Thursday.
Language: Students will be able to identify an adjective in a sentence. An adjective describes a person, place, or thing. It can identify the number, size, or shape of something. Language test will be Friday.
Spelling: Students will learn to read and write words with the vowels oo and u. The letters oo can stand for the vowel sound in book or moon. The letter u can stand for the short u vowel sound or the vowel sound as in book (ex. put). Spelling test will be Friday.
Social Science: Students will learn about landforms and bodies of water. They will compile the information into a student made glossary (which will be taken for a grade).
